Our Story
What's actually in your cannabis.
We think you deserve to know exactly what you're buying — where it was grown, how it was handled, and who stands behind it. Legacy Grower is a New York State licensed cannabis microbusiness in Ridgewood, Queens. We cultivate, process, and package under one roof, which means we can tell you the whole story of every product on our shelf. No mystery supply chains. No filler. Just cannabis we're proud to put our license number on.
From seed to sale
Six steps, one roof. Here’s exactly how a Legacy Grower product comes to be — and how every batch stays traceable the whole way.
Step 1
Cultivar Selection
Every harvest starts with a decision about genetics. We select cultivars for how they actually grow in our room and how they finish — not for a number on a label. Our growers keep a tight, intentional lineup rather than chasing every trend, so each release reflects what the team is genuinely excited about.
We document the parent genetics and phenotype for every batch. When you ask a budtender where a strain came from, there's a real answer.
- Lineup size
- Intentionally narrow
- Selection basis
- Grow + finish quality
Step 2
Cultivation
Our plants are grown in-house in a controlled environment in Ridgewood. We manage light, climate, and feeding on a schedule the team tunes by hand — this is cultivation with care, not a set-it-and-forget-it operation.
We grow in smaller batches than a mega-facility would. That's a deliberate trade: less volume, more attention per plant.
- Location
- Ridgewood, NY — in-house
- Batch size
- Small-batch
- Environment
- Climate-controlled
Step 3
Harvest
Timing is everything at harvest. We watch trichome development and harvest each plant when it's actually ready — not when the calendar says to clear the room. Plants are hand-cut and moved straight to dry.
Every harvest is logged with its date, cultivar, and batch ID so it can be traced from this moment all the way to the package you take home.
- Harvest method
- Hand-cut
- Timing
- Trichome-led, not calendar-led
Step 4
Cure & Trim
After harvest, flower is dried slowly and then cured — the step that quietly makes or breaks quality. We cure in conditions that preserve terpenes and smoothness rather than rushing product to the shelf.
Trimming is done by hand. It's slower, but it protects the structure and trichomes of the flower in a way machine trimming doesn't.
- Cure time
- ~21 days
- Trim
- Hand-trimmed
Step 5
Lab Testing
Before anything is packaged for sale, it's tested by a New York State licensed independent laboratory for potency and contaminants. We don't sell what doesn't pass. Every batch carries a Certificate of Analysis (COA) tied to its batch ID.
When you scan or ask for a product's lab results, you're seeing the real numbers for the exact batch in your hand — not a generic sheet.
- Testing
- NYS-licensed independent lab
- Documentation
- COA per batch
- Failed batches
- Never sold
Step 6
Packaging & Delivery
Product is packaged in child-resistant, compliant packaging and labeled per New York State requirements — including the batch ID that links back to everything above. From there it's available in-store and through licensed delivery to permitted locations.
The chain stays unbroken end to end: the flower in the jar can be traced to the plant, the harvest, the cure, and the lab result. That's the whole point.
- Packaging
- Child-resistant, NYS-compliant
- Traceability
- Batch ID, seed-to-sale
- Availability
- In-store + licensed delivery

Our facility
We operate out of 78-10 Cypress Avenue in Ridgewood — a neighborhood that sits right on the Queens-Brooklyn line and has always made things. Cultivation, processing, and our retail storefront share the same address, which is unusual and very much on purpose.
Being a microbusiness means we're small by design. We'd rather know every product personally than scale past the point where we can.
Cannabis & Art
There’s more to our space than the shelf.
Art is part of how we think about retail. See what’s on view — including a featured original for our soft opening.
Our team
Real bios and photos are on the way. For now, here's who's behind the work:
Master Cultivator
Owns genetics, the grow environment, and harvest timing. The reason a batch is what it is.
Compliance Lead
Keeps every product, label, and claim inside New York State and OCM rules — and keeps us honest about it.
Retail Lead
Runs the storefront and trains the team to answer the real questions customers ask about what they're buying.
Our compliance posture
Legacy Grower operates under New York State adult-use cannabis license OCM-MICR-24-000091, regulated by the Office of Cannabis Management. Everything we sell is tracked seed-to-sale and tested by a licensed independent lab.
We don't make medical or therapeutic claims, and we don't sell anything that hasn't passed testing. If a batch fails, it doesn't reach the floor. If you ever want to see the paperwork behind a product, ask — we keep it.
