Know what you're holding.
Every Legacy Grower product can be traced back to the plant it came from. This is the practical side of that promise — what a batch ID is, how to read a lab report, what our freshness labels mean, and how to check any of it yourself. No jargon, no marketing math.
What seed-to-sale traceability means
Every batch we grow gets a batch ID the moment it's harvested. That ID follows the flower through curing, trimming, lab testing, and packaging — and it's printed on the label you take home. It's the thread that ties the jar in your hand back to a specific plant, a specific harvest date, and a specific lab report.
Because we cultivate, process, and package under one roof, that thread never gets handed off to a supply chain we can't see. If you ever want to know where a product came from, the batch ID is the answer — and we keep the paperwork behind it.
- Batch ID
- A unique code assigned at harvest and printed on every package.
- Certificate of Analysis (COA)
- The independent lab report tied to that batch ID — potency and safety results for that exact run.
- Seed-to-sale record
- The full chain — plant, harvest, cure, test, package — logged and traceable end to end.
How to read a Certificate of Analysis
A COA is the lab's report card for a batch. Here's what the sections mean, so the numbers aren't a mystery when you see them on a real product.
- Cannabinoid potency (THC, CBD, and others)
- How much of each cannabinoid the batch actually contains, usually as a percentage or per-package amount. This tells you what's in it — we don't treat a higher number as a better product.
- Terpenes
- The aroma and flavor compounds. They're why two strains can smell completely different. Listed when tested.
- Pesticides
- A screen for agricultural chemicals. A batch has to pass New York State limits to be sold.
- Microbials
- A screen for mold, yeast, and harmful bacteria. Required to pass before anything reaches the floor.
- Heavy metals
- A screen for metals like lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury that plants can absorb. Must pass state limits.
- Residual solvents
- For vapes and extracts, a check that no leftover processing solvents remain above safe limits.
- Batch ID & lab info
- The batch this report belongs to, the licensed lab that ran it, and the test date — so you can match the COA to the product in your hand.
We don't sell a batch that fails any required screen. When our menu is live, each product's real COA links straight from its page.
Verify a batch
Enter the batch ID from your package label to pull up its lab report.
What a batch record looks like
Each product carries a record like this. Values fill in from the live menu — we show an em-dash rather than a guess.
What our freshness labels mean
When a product shows a freshness label, here's what it's telling you. These appear only when there's real batch data behind them — we'd rather show nothing than guess.
- Fresh batch
Recently harvested and packaged — near the front of its batch window.
- Current drop
The drop we're actively selling — well within its window.
- In rotation
Still in good standing on the menu, later in its batch window.
One thing we'll never do is print a freshness label we can't back up with a batch record. If you don't see one yet, it's because the live batch data isn't connected — not because we're hiding it.
Ask us anything
If a product's lab report, batch, or origin isn't clear, that's on us to fix — not on you to wonder about. Ask any budtender, scan the code on your package, or reach out. We keep the records, and we're happy to show them.
